Technology for all ages

I’ve taken part in a lot of projects which have helped me build connections and knowledge about Medway and Swale. I feel very lucky to have these opportunities.

Sound Walks are a burgeoning and exciting new artistic medium, and, of course, a new experience for many people in Kent. The Hulked Sound Walk launched with an open day that invited members of the local community to just come along and experience the work on site around the foreshore of the Medway at Lower Halstow and in The Old Brickfields.

Using headphones and smartphones supplied by Electric Medway and the Hulked project team, volunteers and the creators Anna Braithwaite and Jeremy Scott were on hand to guide people in using the Echoes.app, showing them around the site and generally helping them to get the most out of the experience.

There was a very good turnout on the day, with plenty of visitors and some very positive feedback. It felt like a good way to get people involved with tech-driven creative work without it feeling intimidating, and the team will be running similar events in the future.
