Hulked in motion

One of the first outputs of the project was a short film made with filmmaker Matt Rowe, shot on location in and around the hulk of SB Surrey (pictured). The film captures the essence and spirit of the project creatively, and presents some of its key themes.

The team made field recordings aboard the SB Edith May and in and around the foreshore, which become part of the sound track for the film. Further work on the soundtrack was done at one of the University of Kent’s recording studios.

During this period, the writing of new material and the re-working of aspects of the pilot project also began in earnest.
